1. The most important thing in the maintenance of chain saws is the saw chain. A properly maintained and sharpened saw chain can be easily sawed into the wood with only a small amount of pressure. During daily maintenance, be careful to check whether there are cracks and broken rivets on the chain links of the saw chain. Replace any damaged or worn parts on the saw chain and match them with new parts that are the same shape and size as they were originally. Cemented carbide saw chains are particularly resistant to wear.
2. The sharpening work of sawing chains can usually be done by service dealers. The zigzag angle must be maintained when sharpening. All saw teeth must have the same angle, if different, the saw will not rotate smoothly and will wear severely until the saw chain breaks. All jagged teeth must also be the same length. If different, the tooth height will be different, which will also cause the saw chain to rotate unstablely and eventually break. After sharpening, clean the saw chain thoroughly, clean the filing or dust attached to it and lubricate the saw chain. If not used for a long time, it is necessary to ensure that the saw chain is stored in a well-lubricated state.
3. For long-term storage of chain saws, empty the fuel tank in a well-ventilated place and clean it. Always run the engine before the carburetor dries to prevent the carburetor diaphragm from sticking together. Remove the saw chain and guide plate, clean it, and spray it with anti-rust oil. Thoroughly clean the equipment, especially the cylinder cooling ribs and air filters. If using biosaw chain lubricant, fill the lubricant tank.
4. It should be noted that even if the chain saw is used and maintained according to the regulations, some parts of the power equipment will have normal wear and loss. Therefore, they must be replaced in a timely manner according to the model and usage of the parts. These parts include: saw chains, guides, transmission parts (clutch, clutch drum, sprocket), filters, starting devices, spark plugs and parts of vibration-absorbing systems, etc.
